New in Easy to Inspect: a new PDF engine and more secure accounts

Since 7 October 2026, your PDF reports are created by a new, faster engine and your account is better protected.

A new engine for your PDF reports

7 October 2026

On 7 October 2026 we released a new version of Easy to Inspect. Inspection reports, nonconformity reports and action reports are now created by a new PDF engine. Reports are generated faster and look cleaner, and the structure you know stays the same.

What you will see:

  • A tidier layout. The report title lines up with your company logo, the introduction and closing texts line up with the title, and the summary table uses the full page width and is never split across two pages.
  • Better photos. Photos are aligned consistently, have more space around them and stay with their question when the page breaks.
  • Clearer signatures. Signatures are shown larger, in a framed block with the name of the signer.
  • Action reports you can print and complete. Empty action fields have writing space again, and field labels fit on one line in every language.
  • The right language throughout. Fixed labels, column headings and the signature label now follow the report language (English, Dutch, German or French).
  • Document properties. Each PDF now contains its title and its creation and modification dates.

Two report settings now work as intended

Two report settings per checklist had no effect in the PDF until now. They are now applied:

  • Alternative wording for OK / Not OK / NA. For example "OK / Not OK / NA" instead of "Okay / Not okay / NA". This also applies to the action report and the Excel export.
  • Show pre-loaded inspector signature. When this setting is on, the signature from the inspector's user profile is printed in the report.

If your checklists use one of these settings, your new reports will look different from earlier ones. To change this, open My checklists, choose the checklist and go to the Report settings tab.

Safer accounts

  • Stronger access checks. We have strengthened the authorisation checks on pages, reports, exports and the API. Every user can only reach the data of their own account.
  • Confirm your identity. When you change your password or login e-mail address, you are asked to confirm your identity first.
  • Verify a new login e-mail address. If you change your login e-mail address, we send a verification message to the new address. The new address becomes active only after you confirm it.

Smaller improvements

  • Finalising an inspection on the website. The Mark as final version button in the side bar of the inspection form now finalises the inspection without sending the report e-mail, just like the button of the same name at the bottom of the page. To finalise and send the e-mail in one step, use Mark as final version and send email at the bottom of the page.
  • Action tracker. The menu of an action opens only for the row you click and closes again when you click it a second time.
  • Inspections from the app. Shortly after the release, the link Go to nonconformities was missing for some inspections finalised in the app. We fixed this the same day and restored the inspections concerned.
